A refreshing and colorful summer fruit salad made with watermelon, berries, grapes, and basil, tossed in a light honey-lime dressing. Perfect for BBQs, picnics, or healthy snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2-3 cups diced watermelon (1 to 2 inch chunks)
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup grapes
  • 1-2 fresh basil leaves, sliced
  • 1/41/2 cup honey (start with 1/4 cup and adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (approx. 1 large lime)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lime zest

Instructions

  1. Wash and prepare all fruits: cube the watermelon, slice strawberries, and rinse blueberries and grapes.
  2. Slice or chiffonade the basil leaves.
  3. Add watermelon, strawberries, blueberries, grapes, and basil to a large bowl.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together honey, lime juice, olive oil, and lime zest to make the dressing. Taste and adjust to preference.
  5. Drizzle the dressing over the fruit and gently toss to coat.
  6. Refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving to let flavors blend.

Notes

  • Use fresh fruit for best texture and flavor.
  • Olive oil smooths the dressing; omit if preferred.
  • Add or substitute fruits like mango, kiwi, or oranges as desired.
  • Drain excess dressing before storage to avoid sogginess.
  • Serve within 24-48 hours for optimal freshness.
