A refreshing and creamy Waldorf Salad made with crisp apples, celery, grapes, and walnuts tossed in a tangy dressing. This timeless American classic balances sweet and savory flavors, perfect for holidays, picnics, or light lunches.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium apples (Gala or Honeycrisp), cored and diced
  • 2 celery stalks, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup red or green grapes, halved
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, toasted
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: raisins, diced pears, or shredded lettuce

Instructions

  1. Wash, core, and dice the apples. Slice celery and halve grapes. Toast the walnuts lightly in a dry skillet and let them cool.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt), lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine apples, celery, grapes, and walnuts.
  4. Pour the dressing over the mixture and toss gently until evenly coated.
  5. Chill the salad in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  6. Garnish with extra walnut pieces or serve over fresh lettuce leaves.

Notes

  • Use crisp apples like Fuji or Honeycrisp for the best texture.
  • Toast walnuts to enhance their nutty flavor.
  • Replace half the mayo with Greek yogurt for a lighter version.
  • Store in an airtight container and consume within 3 days for freshness.
  • Toss apples in lemon juice to prevent browning.
