Sausage and Cabbage Stir Fry is a quick and flavorful one-pan dinner made with smoked chicken sausage, tender cabbage, garlic, and simple seasonings. Ready in 30 minutes and naturally low-carb.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces smoked chicken sausage, sliced
  • 1 small head green cabbage, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (optional)
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced chicken sausage and cook for 4–5 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add sliced onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
  4. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in sliced cabbage and cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender but slightly crisp.
  6. Return sausage to the skillet and season with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and optional soy sauce or red pepper flakes.
  7. Cook for another 3–5 minutes, stirring well to combine flavors.
  8. Taste and adjust seasoning. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the skillet to prevent steaming.
  • Cook uncovered at the end to reduce excess moisture.
  • For extra flavor, allow sausage to caramelize well before removing it from the pan.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Reheat in a skillet with a small splash of water or broth if needed.
