This homemade pumpkin spice latte is a cozy, naturally sweetened fall drink made with real pumpkin puree, warm spices, and your choice of milk. It’s easy to make, healthier than store-bought, and ready in just 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 shots espresso (or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee)
  • 1 cup milk of choice (oat milk recommended)
  • 12 tablespoons pumpkin puree
  • 12 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pour milk into a small pot and heat over medium-low until hot but not boiling.
  2. Brew espresso and pour into a mug. Add pumpkin puree, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract. Stir until combined.
  3. Froth the hot milk using a frother or blender. Pour over the pumpkin-coffee mixture and spoon extra foam on top.
  4. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with extra spice if desired.

Notes

  • If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice, mix 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/8 tsp nutmeg, 1/8 tsp ginger, and 1/8 tsp cloves or allspice.
  • You can store the flavor base in the fridge for up to 5 days.
  • To make an iced version, use cold milk and serve over ice.
  • Use decaf coffee or omit espresso for a kid-friendly option.
