Instructions

  1. Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl and allow to activate for 5 minutes.
  2. Mix flour, salt, olive oil, and yeast mixture to form a dough.
  3. Knead for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in an oiled bowl and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
  5. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  6. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  7. Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
  8. Simmer for 20 minutes, then cool completely.
