Pepperoni Pizza Rolls are bite-sized, cheesy, and savory snacks made from soft pizza dough, rich sauce, melty mozzarella, and chopped pepperoni—perfect for parties, lunchboxes, or freezer meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1½ cups warm water
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1½ teaspoons salt
  • to 4 cups flour (bread flour, all-purpose, or whole wheat)
  • to 3 cups pizza sauce
  • 2 cups freshly shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup chopped pepperoni
  • ¼ to cup cornmeal
  • ¼ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine water, honey, olive oil, yeast, salt, and 1 cup of flour. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft, smooth dough forms. Knead for 3–4 minutes.
  4. Let dough rest, covered, for 10–15 minutes.
  5. Divide dough into two portions. Press one portion into a 14×10-inch rectangle on a greased surface.
  6. Spread ½ to ¾ cup pizza sauce, sprinkle with 1 cup mozzarella, and ½ cup chopped pepperoni.
  7. Roll the dough tightly from the long side and seal the seam. Cut into 1-inch rolls.
  8. Dip bottoms of rolls in cornmeal and place them on the baking sheet 1 inch apart.
  9. Repeat with the second portion of dough.
  10. Sprinkle rolls with Parmesan cheese and bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Serve warm with extra pizza sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Use half bread flour and half whole wheat for a healthier dough.
  • Don’t overload with sauce or cheese to avoid soggy rolls.
  • Roll tightly and seal the seam to prevent unrolling during baking.
  • Flash-freeze unbaked rolls for longer storage and bake from frozen.
