This Peppermint Christmas Float is a festive and refreshing holiday drink made with cream soda, vanilla ice cream, and peppermint extract. It’s easy to assemble, perfect for kids and adults, and topped with whipped cream and crushed peppermint candy for a beautiful holiday presentation.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cream soda
  • 2 small scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 23 drops peppermint extract
  • 2 tbsp heavy whipping cream
  • 12 drops red food coloring (optional)
  • Crushed peppermint candy (for rimming glass)
  • Cool Whip (for garnish)
  • 1 whole peppermint candy (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Crush peppermint candies and place them in a shallow dish.
  2. Dip the rim of the glass in water, then into the crushed candy to coat the edge.
  3. In the bottom of the glass, add heavy whipping cream, peppermint extract, and food coloring. Stir well.
  4. Slowly pour half of the cream soda into the glass.
  5. Add two small scoops of vanilla ice cream gently.
  6. Top with the remaining cream soda, pouring slowly to avoid overflow.
  7. Add a dollop of Cool Whip on top.
  8. Place a whole peppermint candy on top for garnish and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use chilled soda and pre-scooped ice cream to prevent quick melting.
  • You can swap cream soda with lemon-lime soda or ginger ale for variation.
  • Use plant-based ice cream and whipped topping for a vegan version.
  • Prepare rimming and cream mix ahead of time for faster serving.
