Notebook Paper Rice Krispies Treats are a fun and creative back-to-school snack that transforms classic marshmallow cereal bars into adorable notebook-themed desserts using fondant and edible markers.

Ingredients

  • 8 ct box Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Treats or premade Rice Krispies Treats
  • White fondant
  • Wilton Edible Food Writers (blue, red, black)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • White frosting
  • 2″x1.75″ rectangular cookie cutter
  • Wilton Apple icing decorations
  • Toothpicks or ruler

Instructions

  1. Unwrap each premade Rice Krispies Treat and discard the wrappers.
  2. Roll out white fondant to about 1/8″ thick on a surface dusted with powdered sugar.
  3. Use the rectangular cookie cutter to cut out fondant pieces to fit the top of the treats.
  4. Spread a thin layer of white frosting on each treat and place a fondant rectangle on top.
  5. Use a ruler and edible food writers to draw horizontal blue lines and a single vertical red line to mimic notebook paper.
  6. Add apple icing decorations or write names/messages using the black edible pen.
  7. Let treats dry for 30 minutes before serving or packaging.

  • Store in airtight containers and avoid refrigeration to keep fondant from sweating.
