Lunch lady brownies are rich, fudgy chocolate brownies topped with a creamy chocolate frosting that melts into the warm base for a nostalgic dessert.

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • For frosting: 1/4 cup butter, 1/4 cup cocoa powder, 3 cups powdered sugar, 1/4 cup milk, 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. Mix melted butter and cocoa powder until smooth.
  3. Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla and mix well.
  4. Stir in flour and salt until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into pan and bake for 20–25 minutes.
  6. Prepare frosting by mixing butter, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
  7. Spread frosting over warm brownies.
  8. Cool completely before slicing.
