Crispy and spicy jalapeno bottle caps made with thinly sliced jalapenos coated in a seasoned batter and fried to golden perfection, perfect for snacks or appetizers.

  • 1012 fresh jalapenos (sliced into thin rounds)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup milk or 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the jalapenos, then slice them into thin, even rounds.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  3. In another bowl, add milk or whisk eggs.
  4. Dip each jalapeno slice into the liquid mixture, then coat evenly with the dry mixture.
  5. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry the coated slices in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden and crispy.
  7. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
