Instant Pot Spicy Dumpling Soup is a cozy, flavor-packed meal made with tender dumplings simmered in a bold, garlicky chili broth. It’s the perfect comfort food that comes together in under 30 minutes using your Instant Pot.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1520 frozen dumplings (chicken, shrimp, or vegetable)
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 12 tbsp chili paste (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sriracha (optional for extra heat)
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes
  • 2 cups bok choy or spinach
  • 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lime wedges, sesame seeds, or cilantro for serving

Instructions

  1. Set the Instant Pot to Sauté mode and heat sesame oil. Add minced garlic and ginger, stirring for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Stir in chili paste, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sriracha (if using). Add broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
  3. Add frozen dumplings on top of the broth without stirring. Secure lid and set to Manual (High Pressure) for 3 minutes.
  4. When done, perform a quick pressure release. Carefully remove the lid and switch back to Sauté mode.
  5. Add bok choy, spinach, and mushrooms. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until vegetables are wilted and tender.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning with more soy sauce or chili paste if needed.
  7. Ladle into bowls and top with green onions, lime wedges, sesame seeds, or cilantro before serving.

Notes

  • Use frozen dumplings directly — no need to thaw.
  • Do not overcook; dumplings may break apart if cooked too long.
  • For a milder version, reduce chili paste and skip sriracha.
  • For a creamy twist, stir in a splash of coconut milk after pressure cooking.
  • Store leftover broth separately from dumplings to prevent sogginess.
