Garlic Parmesan Pasta is a creamy, buttery, and aromatic dish made with pantry staples like garlic, parmesan, and cream. It’s quick to make, deeply satisfying, and customizable for any weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • Spaghetti or fettuccine – base for the sauce to cling to
  • Fresh garlic – provides bold, aromatic flavor
  • Butter and olive oil – used to sauté garlic and enrich the sauce
  • Grated parmesan – adds a savory, nutty taste and creamy texture
  • Heavy cream – creates a silky, luscious base
  • Salt and black pepper – balances and enhances overall flavor
  • Fresh parsley – adds brightness and a pop of color (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente; reserve pasta water.
  2. In a skillet, heat butter and olive oil. Sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add heavy cream and simmer until slightly thickened.
  4. Whisk in grated parmesan until the sauce is smooth.
  5. Toss in the drained pasta, coating evenly with the sauce.
  6. Use reserved pasta water to adjust the consistency if needed.
  7. Season with salt and pepper; garnish with chopped parsley.
  8. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving to help the sauce set.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated parmesan for a smoother sauce.
  • Don’t brown the garlic to avoid bitterness.
  • Add lemon zest for a bright flavor contrast.
  • Include grilled chicken or vegetables for variation.
  • Gluten-free pasta works just as well in this recipe.
