Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 ounces chicken sausage, sliced into rounds
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed (or frozen green beans)
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 medium potatoes, diced (optional)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Slice the chicken sausage into even rounds.
  2. Rinse the green beans and trim the ends if using fresh beans.
  3. Place the green beans in the bottom of the crockpot.
  4. Add the sliced chicken sausage on top of the green beans.
  5. Add the sliced onion, diced potatoes (if using), and minced garlic.
  6. Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper over the ingredients.
  7. Pour the chicken broth into the crockpot.
  8. Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or on high for 2–3 hours.
  9. Stir gently halfway through cooking if desired.
  10. Serve warm once the green beans are tender and the sausage is fully heated.

Notes

  • Chicken sausage is used as a lighter alternative while maintaining the classic flavor of kielbasa-style dishes.
  • Frozen green beans can be used directly without thawing.
  • Adding potatoes makes the dish more filling and turns it into a complete one-pot meal.
  • If you prefer stronger flavor, add extra garlic powder or paprika.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
