Dallas BBQ Sticky Wings recipe: Make crispy, juicy wings coated in a sweet, smoky, and sticky glaze. Perfect for game day, parties, or family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken wings, split at joints, tips discarded
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (homemade is best)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Split the chicken wings at the joint and discard tips.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together BBQ sauce, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add chicken wings to the bowl and toss to coat evenly.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight for best flavor).
  5. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place wings on a wire rack over a foil-lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden and crispy.
  7. While wings bake, simmer remaining marinade in a saucepan until thickened to a glaze.
  8. Brush wings with glaze and return to oven for 5 minutes to caramelize.
  9. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For deeper flavor, marinate wings overnight.
  • Pat wings dry before baking for extra crispiness.
  • Use a wire rack to promote even cooking and prevent sogginess.
  • Wings can also be grilled or cooked in an air fryer for variation.
  • Adjust cayenne pepper to control spice level.
