Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground beef
1 small head green cabbage, sliced
1 medium onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 cup beef broth (alcohol-free)
1/2 cup heavy cream or 4 ounces cream cheese
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook for 5–7 minutes, breaking it apart until browned. Drain excess grease if needed.
Add diced onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add sliced cabbage, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage softens.
Pour in beef broth and simmer for 5 minutes to tenderize the cabbage and deepen flavor.
Stir in heavy cream or cream cheese and cook for 3–5 minutes until sauce thickens and coats evenly.
Taste and adjust seasoning. Add optional cheese or parsley before serving.
Notes
Cook uncovered at the end if the mixture becomes watery.
Add cream gradually to control thickness.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
Reheat gently with a splash of broth or cream if needed.
Freezing is possible, though texture may slightly change due to cream.
