These Cream Cheese Chocolate Truffles are rich, creamy, and unbelievably easy to make! A quick no-bake dessert made with cream cheese, melted chocolate, and your favorite coatings — perfect for parties, gifts, or an indulgent treat anytime.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (1 package) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup crushed chocolate cookies or wafers (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Cocoa powder, melted chocolate, or chopped nuts (for coating)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth using a hand mixer or spatula.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth.
  3. Pour melted chocolate into the cream cheese and mix until fully combined. Add vanilla and a pinch of salt. Fold in crushed cookies if using.
  4. Cover and refrigerate the mixture for 45–60 minutes, or until firm enough to shape.
  5. Once chilled, scoop 1 tablespoon portions and roll into balls. If sticky, chill again briefly.
  6. Coat truffles in your choice of cocoa powder, melted chocolate, or nuts.
  7. Place truffles on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use room-temperature cream cheese for a smooth texture.
  • Chill the mixture before rolling to make shaping easier.
  • For a nut-free version, use cookie crumbs or sprinkles instead of nuts.
  • Store truffles in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Coat with cocoa powder just before serving to prevent clumping.
