These Cinnamon Sugar Apple Chips are a crispy, healthy, and flavorful snack made with just three ingredients. Baked to perfection, they’re a low-fat alternative to traditional chips, perfect for fall or anytime you’re craving a naturally sweet treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium apples (Gala, Fuji, or Pink Lady preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°F (93°C) and line 2–3 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Using a mandoline or sharp knife, slice apples into 1/16-inch thick rounds through the core. Remove seeds carefully.
  3. In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Add apple slices to a large bowl and toss with cinnamon sugar mixture or rub mixture gently onto each slice by hand.
  5. Arrange apple slices in a single layer on prepared baking sheets without overlapping.
  6. Bake for 1.5 hours, then flip each slice.
  7. Bake for an additional hour, then turn off oven and leave apple chips inside to cool overnight.
  8. Once cooled, store in an airtight container to keep them crisp.

Notes

  • Use firm apples like Gala or Fuji for best crispness.
  • Leave chips in the oven overnight to fully dehydrate.
  • To re-crisp, bake at 200°F for 15–20 minutes.
  • For a sugar-free option, omit sugar or use a natural sweetener.
  • Customize spices with pumpkin pie spice or a pinch of cayenne for a twist.
