Cherry Bread is a soft moist quick bread filled with sweet cherries and topped with optional glaze. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, dessert, snack time, holidays, and homemade gifts.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract optional
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped cherries
  • 1 tablespoon flour for cherries
  • Glaze: powdered sugar and milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Whisk dry ingredients.
  3. Cream butter and sugar.
  4. Add eggs.
  5. Add milk and extracts.
  6. Mix in dry ingredients.
  7. Coat cherries in flour and fold in.
  8. Bake 50 to 60 minutes.
  9. Cool completely.
  10. Drizzle glaze over loaf.
