  • 1 cup (200g) brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups (315g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups (180g) pecans, toasted and chopped

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until it turns golden brown and develops a nutty aroma.
  2. Remove from heat and let the browned butter cool for 10–15 minutes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the browned butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar, mixing until smooth.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract, then whisk until fully incorporated.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a dough forms.
  7. Fold in the toasted pecans evenly.
  8. Chill the dough for 30–60 minutes.
  9. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  11. Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft.
  12. Let cookies cool before serving.

Notes

  • Chilling the dough helps control spreading.
  • Toast pecans for deeper flavor.
  • Slightly underbake for chewy centers.
  • Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
