Brazilian Lemonade with Coconut is a creamy, citrusy tropical drink made with fresh limes, sweetened condensed milk, and a hint of coconut extract. It’s a refreshing summer beverage that’s easy to make in under 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups cold water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 limes, washed and cut into small pieces
  • 3 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon coconut extract (optional)
  • Ice, to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash the limes thoroughly with soap and water, then rinse well.
  2. Cut off both ends of each lime and slice them into about 18 small pieces per lime.
  3. Place the cold water, sugar, coconut extract, sweetened condensed milk, and chopped limes into a blender.
  4. Blend for about 20 seconds, just until the flavors are released.
  5. Strain the mixture using a fine mesh strainer to remove the pulp.
  6. Pour into glasses and serve immediately over ice.
  7. Adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more condensed milk or lime juice as desired.

Notes

  • Use thin-skinned limes to reduce bitterness.
  • Do not over-blend or the lime rinds may make the drink bitter.
  • For a vegan version, use sweetened coconut milk or agave nectar with coconut cream.
  • Serve immediately for the best flavor and freshness.
  • For a frozen treat, blend with ice until slushy.
