Baileys Hot Chocolate is a rich, creamy winter drink made with dark chocolate, cocoa powder, and Baileys Irish Cream. It’s a 5-minute cozy indulgence perfect for holidays, brunches, or relaxing winter nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup whole milk (or half milk, half heavy cream)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 oz dark or milk chocolate, chopped
  • 1/4 cup Baileys Irish Cream
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (optional, to taste)
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • Chocolate syrup (optional, for topping)
  • Chocolate shavings (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, warm the milk until steaming but not boiling.
  2. Whisk in the cocoa powder and chopped chocolate until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the Baileys Irish Cream.
  4. Taste the mixture and add sugar as needed, stirring to dissolve.
  5. Pour into a mug and top with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and chocolate shavings if desired.

Notes

  • Do not let the milk boil to avoid scorching.
  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
  • Whisk instead of stirring to prevent lumps.
  • Baileys can be substituted with Baileys Almande for a dairy-free version.
  • Adjust sugar based on the sweetness of your chocolate.
