Scale
  • 2 large slightly green bananas
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil or coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • Optional Sweet Seasoning:
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon coconut sugar
  • Optional Savory Seasoning:
  • Garlic powder
  • Smoked paprika
  • Chili powder
  • Black pepper
  • Everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  1. Peel the bananas and slice them into 1/8-inch thick rounds.
  2. In a bowl, toss the banana slices with the oil, lemon juice, and salt. Add optional seasonings if desired.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 300°F (150°C) for 3 minutes.
  4. Arrange the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  5. Air fry for 12 to 16 minutes, flipping halfway through cooking.
  6. Remove when the chips are lightly golden and crisp around the edges.
  7. Transfer to a cooling rack and allow them to cool completely to crisp further.
  8. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Use slightly green bananas for the crispiest chips.
  • Slice the bananas evenly for consistent cooking.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket.
  • Watch carefully during the final few minutes to prevent burning.
  • The chips become crispier as they cool.
  • Store only after they have cooled completely.
  • If they soften, reheat in the air fryer for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Customize with sweet or savory seasonings.
