4th of July Monster Cookies are soft, chewy patriotic cookies loaded with oats, peanut butter, chocolate chips, red white and blue candy-coated chocolates, and festive sprinkles. They’re perfect for Independence Day celebrations, barbecues, and summer parties.

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup red, white, and blue candy-coated chocolates
  • 1/2 cup patriotic sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Whisk together oats, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Cream butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  5. Add eggs one at a time.
  6. Mix in vanilla extract.
  7. Add dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  8. Fold in chocolate chips.
  9. Stir in candy-coated chocolates and sprinkles.
  10. Scoop large portions of dough onto prepared baking sheets.
  11. Press additional candies and sprinkles on top.
  12. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  13. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes.
  14. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
