Valentine Puppy Chow is a quick and easy no-bake snack mix made with Chex cereal, chocolate, peanut butter, and powdered sugar, then decorated with pink and red Valentine candies for a festive, sweet treat perfect for gifting or parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 cups Rice or Corn Chex Cereal
  • 1 cup semi-sweet or white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup Valentine M&Ms
  • 1/2 cup pink or red candy melts (optional)
  • Heart sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each until melted and smooth.
  2. Stir in vanilla extract and mix well.
  3. Pour the chocolate mixture over the Chex cereal in a large bowl and gently stir until all pieces are evenly coated.
  4. Transfer the coated cereal into a large zip-top bag. Add powdered sugar, seal, and shake gently until cereal is well coated.
  5. Spread the coated cereal on a lined baking sheet to cool for 10–15 minutes.
  6. Once cooled, pour the cereal into a large serving bowl and mix in Valentine M&Ms, candy melts, and sprinkles.
  7. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to one week.

Notes

  • Do not overheat the chocolate; melt in short bursts to avoid burning.
  • Wait until the cereal has cooled before adding powdered sugar to prevent clumping.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture for best results.
  • Use gluten-free Chex and dairy-free chocolate for an allergy-friendly version.
