Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp fine sea salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • Pinch red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Measure out all spices and place them in a small bowl.
  2. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
  3. Transfer to an airtight container or spice jar.
  4. Store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.
  5. Use 2–3 tablespoons per 1 pound of meat, with 1/2 cup water.

Notes

  • Use fresh spices for best flavor — check aroma before using.
  • You can double or triple the batch and store it for months.
  • Adjust the heat level by increasing or omitting red pepper flakes.
  • Great in taco meat, soups, dips, veggies, and compound butter.
