Smoked Sausage Pasta is a creamy, flavor-packed one-pan dinner that combines smoky sausage, tender pasta, and a rich, cheesy sauce for a comforting meal ready in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz smoked sausage, sliced into ¼-inch rounds
  • 8 oz pasta (penne or rotini), cooked al dente
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup spinach (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced smoked sausage and brown on both sides for about 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onion and garlic until fragrant.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and deglaze the pan, scraping up browned bits.
  5. Add heavy cream, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer until slightly thickened.
  6. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  7. Return sausage to the pan, then add cooked pasta. Toss to coat evenly.
  8. Adjust seasoning as needed and add spinach if using. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  9. Garnish with extra Parmesan and parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Use andouille for a spicy version or kielbasa for a milder flavor.
  • Add crushed red pepper for extra heat.
  • For a lighter option, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3–4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat gently on the stovetop with a splash of milk or broth.
