Slow Cooker Chicken and Gravy is a creamy, comforting dish made with tender chicken breasts slow-cooked in rich gravy. Perfect for busy weeknights or family gatherings, this recipe requires minimal prep and delivers maximum flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 packets (0.87 oz each) dry chicken gravy mix or brown gravy mix
  • 1 can (10 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 3/4 cups chicken stock or water
  • 1/3 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In the slow cooker, whisk together the gravy packets, cream of chicken soup, chicken stock, and black pepper until smooth.
  2. Add the chicken breasts to the mixture, pressing them down so they are submerged.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 5–6 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  4. Remove the chicken, shred or slice as desired, and serve with the gravy over mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta.

Notes

  • For extra creaminess, stir in 4 oz cream cheese during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  • Bone-in chicken can be used; increase cooking time by 1–2 hours.
  • Add vegetables like carrots, green beans, or potatoes for a complete meal.
  • Use low-sodium ingredients if desired to reduce salt content.
