Simple Garlic Butter Lobster Tails are tender, juicy lobster tails broiled to perfection and brushed with rich garlic butter. This easy and elegant seafood recipe is perfect for special dinners at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 lobster tails (56 oz each), thawed if frozen
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Lemon wedges for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven broiler to high and line a baking sheet with foil.
  2. Using kitchen scissors, cut through the top shell of each lobster tail lengthwise, stopping before the tail fin.
  3. Gently loosen the meat from the shell and lift it to rest on top while keeping it attached at the base.
  4. Pat lobster meat dry and season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice.
  5. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt butter and add minced garlic. Cook gently for 1–2 minutes without browning.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in parsley and lemon zest. Reserve half of the garlic butter for serving.
  7. Brush lobster meat generously with garlic butter.
  8. Place lobster tails under the broiler about 5–6 inches from the heat source.
  9. Broil for 8–10 minutes, basting halfway through, until lobster meat is opaque and internal temperature reaches 140–145°F.
  10. Remove from oven and drizzle with reserved garlic butter before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overcook lobster to avoid a rubbery texture.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure proper doneness (140–145°F).
  • Thaw frozen lobster tails overnight in the refrigerator for even cooking.
  • Pat lobster dry before seasoning to improve texture.
  • Serve immediately for best flavor and tenderness.
