Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 1/2 to 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 cup whole milk, warm
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for filling)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (for filling)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk and sprinkle yeast and a small amount of sugar over it. Let sit until foamy.
  2. Mix butter, remaining sugar, eggs, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Add yeast mixture and gradually mix in flour to form a soft dough.
  4. Knead until smooth and elastic, then place in a greased bowl.
  5. Cover and let rise until doubled in size.
  6. Roll dough into a rectangle and spread cinnamon filling evenly.
  7. Roll dough loosely, seal edges, and shape into a ring.
  8. Let rest briefly, then bake until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Cool completely, drizzle with glaze, and allow to set before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overflour the dough to avoid dryness.
  • Chilling dough slightly makes shaping easier.
  • Glaze only after cake has cooled completely.
  • Freeze unglazed cake for longer storage.
