Healthy Tzatziki Sauce is a light, creamy Greek dip made with Greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, lemon juice, and fresh dill. It’s a refreshing, protein-packed Mediterranean sauce that pairs perfectly with grilled meats, veggies, or pita bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup nonfat or low-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 medium cucumber, grated and drained
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash, peel, and grate the cucumber using a fine grater.
  2. Place the grated cucumber in a towel and squeeze out excess water to prevent a watery sauce.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine Greek yogurt, drained cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and dill.
  4. Mix until all ingredients are well combined.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to blend.
  7. Serve chilled as a dip, spread, or dressing.

Notes

  • Strain yogurt through cheesecloth for a thicker texture.
  • Use vegan or lactose-free yogurt for dietary needs.
  • Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
  • Do not freeze, as yogurt may separate after thawing.
  • Adjust lemon juice and dill to taste preference.
