Easy cherry cobbler delight is a warm, comforting dessert made with juicy cherries baked under a soft, golden topping. It’s simple to prepare, rustic in style, and perfect for serving warm as a homemade treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh, frozen, or canned cherries, pitted and drained
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch or all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, combine cherries, half of the sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract.
  3. Spread the cherry mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Stir in milk and melted butter until a smooth batter forms.
  6. Spoon or pour the batter evenly over the cherry filling.
  7. Bake uncovered for 40 to 45 minutes until the topping is golden and the filling bubbles.
  8. Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Drain cherries well to prevent a watery filling.
  • Allow the cobbler to rest slightly so the filling thickens.
  • Serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
  • The topping will firm up as it cools.
