Easter egg cake pops are festive, bite-sized desserts made from crumbled cake mixed with frosting, shaped like eggs, and coated in colorful candy melts for a fun spring treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box cake mix (any flavor)
  • Ingredients required for cake mix (eggs, oil, water)
  • 1/2 cup frosting
  • 12 oz candy melts (various colors)
  • 20 lollipop sticks
  • Sprinkles and decorative icing

Instructions

  1. Bake the cake according to package instructions and let it cool completely.
  2. Crumble the cake into fine crumbs in a large bowl.
  3. Add frosting gradually and mix until a dough-like consistency forms.
  4. Shape the mixture into small egg shapes and place on a lined tray.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour until firm.
  6. Melt the candy melts according to instructions.
  7. Dip each stick into melted candy and insert into cake pops.
  8. Dip each cake pop into the melted coating until fully covered.
  9. Let excess coating drip off and place upright to set.
  10. Decorate with sprinkles or drizzle designs before coating hardens.

Notes

  • Do not add too much frosting or the cake pops will be too soft.
  • Chill cake pops before dipping to prevent falling apart.
  • Use a deep cup for easier dipping.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • You can freeze cake pops for longer storage.
