Deep Fried Marshmallows are a crispy, golden, gooey dessert that’s quick to make and perfect for parties, holidays, or satisfying your sweet tooth.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag large marshmallows
  • 1 cup pancake mix
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Optional: powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, chopped nuts, sprinkles

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the pancake mix, milk, and egg until smooth. Let rest for 5 minutes.
  2. Heat the oil in a large pot or Dutch oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. (Optional) Freeze marshmallows for 30 minutes for extra firmness.
  4. Coat each marshmallow completely in the batter, letting excess drip off.
  5. Carefully place 2–3 marshmallows at a time into the hot oil.
  6. Fry for 30–60 seconds, turning once, until golden brown.
  7. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve immediately with desired toppings or dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Ensure the oil stays at 350°F for best results.
  • Do not overcrowd the pot or oil temperature will drop.
  • Use a candy thermometer for accurate oil temperature.
  • Freezing the marshmallows helps prevent melting during frying.
  • Best enjoyed immediately after frying for peak crispiness.
