Creamy Garlic Parmesan Cabbage is a rich and comforting side dish made with tender sautéed cabbage, fresh garlic, heavy cream, and melted parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium head green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon cream cheese for extra thickness

Instructions

  1. Remove outer leaves from cabbage, rinse, core, and slice thinly.
  2. Heat butter or olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add sliced cabbage and cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened.
  5. Reduce heat to medium-low and pour in heavy cream. Season with black pepper and salt.
  6. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until cream begins to thicken.
  7. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese and cook until melted and sauce becomes creamy.
  8. Simmer an additional 3–4 minutes until sauce coats the cabbage. Adjust seasoning and serve warm.

Notes

  • Cook uncovered to allow excess moisture to evaporate.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for smoother melting.
  • If sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of milk.
  • Avoid overcooking cabbage to maintain slight texture.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
