Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs + 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup red and green holiday M&M’s
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup salted pretzel twists, crushed

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs and extra yolk one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  5. Stir in the oats until fully incorporated.
  6. Fold in 1 cup M&M’s, pretzels, semi-sweet chocolate chunks, and white chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Form dough into 1/4 cup-size balls and place 3 inches apart on prepared baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 8 minutes, rotate the pan, and bake an additional 2 minutes. Press extra M&M’s into the tops of cookies and bake 2–3 more minutes until edges are golden.
  9. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5–7 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Serve warm or store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.

Notes

  • For thicker cookies, omit the extra egg yolk.
  • Use room temperature butter for best dough consistency.
  • Freeze raw dough balls and bake directly from frozen, adding 1–2 minutes to baking time.
  • Press extra M&M’s into tops mid-bake for a festive look.
