Ingredients

  • Onions – sweetness and crunchy texture
  • Chickpea Flour (Besan) – nutty flavor and structure
  • Rice Flour – extra crispiness
  • Garam Masala – warm, aromatic spice blend
  • Turmeric – earthy flavor and vibrant color
  • Cumin Seeds – savory, spicy hint
  • Coriander Seeds – mild citrus flavor for depth
  • Red Chili Powder – adds a hint of heat
  • Salt – enhances overall taste
  • Fresh Coriander – herbal freshness
  • Water – binds ingredients together
  • Oil Spray – light crispiness without deep frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine sliced onions, chickpea flour, rice flour, and spices.
  2. Add chopped fresh coriander and mix well.
  3. Gradually add water to form a thick batter that clings to the onions.
  4. Let the mixture rest for about 10 minutes to set.
  5. Preheat air fryer to 370°F (190°C).
  6. Lightly grease the air fryer basket with oil spray.
  7. Scoop small portions of the mixture and shape loosely into small fritters.
  8. Place the bhajis in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  9. Spray the tops lightly with oil to help them crisp up.
  10. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  11. Cook until golden and crispy.

Notes

  • Use thinly sliced onions for even cooking.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer for better air circulation.
  • Reheat leftover bhajis in the air fryer to restore crispiness.
