Crispy and creamy Air Fryer Crab Bites made with fresh or imitation crab, cream cheese, and seasonings, air-fried to golden perfection for a quick and flavorful appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup crab meat (fresh or imitation)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Cooking spray, as needed

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine crab meat, cream cheese, green onions, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and Old Bay seasoning. Mix gently to preserve crab texture.
  2. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed. If the mixture is too soft, add 1 tablespoon of breadcrumbs.
  3. Using a spoon or small scoop, form bite-sized balls and roll each one in breadcrumbs to coat evenly.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and spray the basket with cooking spray.
  5. Arrange the crab bites in a single layer, leaving space between each for air circulation. Lightly spray tops with oil.
  6. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crisp on all sides.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce like tartar, garlic butter, or sriracha mayo.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary.
  • For a dairy-free version, use vegan cream cheese.
  • For gluten-free bites, replace panko with gluten-free breadcrumbs.
  • Crab bites can be made ahead and refrigerated up to 24 hours before cooking.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
